This title is in the unclassified service and in the SUNY Professional Services Negotiating Unit.
Positions in this family are charged with the express function of providing training and development to employees either within a specific department or on a house-wide basis, on usage of various equipment, orientation to intra- or interdepartmental procedures, and/or on highly specialized technical skills.
Provides training on the developmental aspects of the job that goes beyond the ability to perform daily functions. May include general courses on state-of-the-art technology. Training is not limited to employees of a specific unit or department, but may be offered house-wide (i.e., Supervisory Skills training or PC Training Classes in Information Systems).
In each level, qualifications will depend on the department or area where the position is found. For example: an Inservice Educator III in Nursing will require an RN as well as a BS; an Inservice Educator in Information Systems may require and Associates Degree and six years of relevant experience.
