T.H. Clinical Technical Services Emergency Medical Services Specialist (SL3)

 

This title is in the unclassified service and in the SUNY Professional Services Negotiating Unit.

Positions in the emergency medical service family provides transport supervision and coordination of paramedics in the emergency medical service setting.

Responsible for the entire coordination of patient transports between University Hospital and other geographically detached medical facilities (hospitals, clinical facilities, etc.). Transports are made by UH ambulance or helicopter. Coordinates proper resources, both personnel and equipment. Responsible for hiring, evaluations, training, quality assurance, and continuing education for all employees in the department as well as outside education to community hospitals and ambulance/fire departments. Directly responsible and accountable for the budget and must generate the appropriate statistical reports needed to ensure that the department is functioning properly. Interfaces between the hospital and outside pre-hospital care agencies.

Preferred Qualification:

Bachelor's Degree, NYS certified AEMT-IV/Paramedic, and four years or more of experience as a paramedic, two years being in a supervisory/administrative capacity. ACLS Provider/Instructor, BLS Provider/Instructor.
