The incumbents in positions in this family perform electrocardiograph diagnostic testing dealing with heart ailments, providing computerized recordings for the physician's review.
Plans, directs and supervises the technical and day-to-day operation of the Electro-cardiology Department; schedules technician coverage and makes necessary adjustments for annual and sick leaves, etc; provides written evaluation of all technologists; operates, maintains Hewlett Packard ECG system to input and retrieve data; makes software adjustments; meet with manufacturer's applications staff; acts as liaison between the computer and physician staff; delegates work for individual technicians; coordinates purchase of new equipment and maintains stock, storage and utilization of support items. Instructs hospital staff and students in ECG techniques and computer transmission; supervises the clinical rotation of students to the department and provides guidelines and objectives for their clerkships. May establish policies and procedures; functions as liaison with other departments; interacts with service and sales people; assists with accepted research protocols.
Associate's Degree. Certification in EKG, ARDMS, CPT. Three years related experience to include one year in a supervisory/administrative capacity.
