T.H. Clinical Technical Services Cardiology Assistant (SL1)

 

This title is in the unclassified service and in the SUNY Professional Services Negotiating Unit.

The incumbents in positions in this family perform and assist in the performance of invasive and non-invasive cardiac diagnostic procedures under limited technical and administrative supervision.

Under the direct guidance of the Clinical Technical Specialist, the incumbent in this position is responsible for maintaining all cardiac invasive and non-invasive equipment and supplies. Responsible for reordering and calculating all data during cardiac procedures. Assists in the preparation of patients for all adult and pediatric cardiac catheterization. Sets up instruments, prepares solutions and assemble/disassembles all equipment. Assists in all clinical emergencies. Assists with the performance of oxygen consumption measurements. Supervises the clinical rotation of students to the department and works with services and sales staff who visit the department. Monitors and records patients' ECG and pressure throughout the procedure.

Preferred Qualification:

High School with Technical Specialty training or B.S. with two to three years experience required.
