This title is in the unclassified service and in the SUNY Professional Services Negotiating Unit.
As a family, Occupational Therapists work closely with other members of the health care team to devise and carry out specialized treatment programs aimed at enabling patients to return to their normal activities.
Responsible for the overall direction of the Hospital Occupational Therapy Program; develops program plans and fosters departmental growth; responsible for all aspects of patient care and management in compliance with departmental policies and procedures and the quality assurance program. Responsible for the department's educational program and the orientation and training of all medical staff and students as needed in regard to Occupational Therapy. Represents the department internally and externally and interacts with medical staff regarding patient needs; develops department policies and procedures and oversees record keeping and inventory control programs. Prepares budgets; plans, organizes, supervises and directs all staff.
Preferred Qualifications:
BS in Occupational Therapy and NYS license. Five years experience to include one year in a supervisory/administrative capacity.
