SUNY Day

For more than 20 years, the Office of Government Relations has been coordinating SUNY Day, which provides our campus presidents, students and other representatives an annual opportunity to gather in Albany to advocate for SUNY's budget request directly with the State Legislature as its members conclude their budget discussions for the fiscal year. In coordination with the event and throughout the year, many campuses also reach out to their alumni who work in the Legislature to remind them of the ongoing needs of their alma mater.
SUNY Day 2008, which was held February 26, was once again a great success, with nearly all of our campuses participating and the Governor addressing the group for the first time. System Administration and the Office of Government Relations would like to thank the campus representatives who participated; our legislative leaders for taking the time to address the group; and the University at Albany Earth Tones for performing so spectacularly at the event.
