March 31, 2005
For the first time in 21 years, the State of New York has an On-Time Budget!
The Senate and Assembly have already passed the education appropriations bills and are on their way to complete passage of all budget bills in the next few hours. Once the bills are passed, they will be transmitted to the Governor for his review and approval. The Governor has 10 days (including Saturdays, but not Sundays) to take action.
The bills dealing with higher education have not changed since the March 29, 2005 Legislative Update where the amended budget bills were outlined.
We will keep you posted on any further developments on the budget as the next two weeks progress.
