Mission Statement

The office of Government Relations is charged with a wide range of responsibilities at the Federal, State and local levels. Our principal goals are to advance the State University of New York system legislative agenda; maintain strong and productive lines of communication with the Governor's Office, the State Legislature, Members of Congress, and related State and Federal agencies on all matters of SUNY policy; coordinate the advocacy efforts underway at all SUNY campuses to ensure a consistent and coherent message; and help campus-based constituency groups and organizations to ensure their ideas, agendas and visions are heard by all levels of state and federal government. The office also assists campuses with their intergovernmental relations in their local communities.
