Chancellor’s Award for Internationalization (CAFI)

Academic Year 2012 – 2013

The Office of Global Affairs (OGA) of the State University of New York is pleased to announce a new round of competition for the Chancellor’s Award for Internationalization. The competition consists of five (5) grants of $4,000 (contingent upon funding availability) each for the development and implementation of an innovative study abroad project (Project). Proposals from interested faculty (Campus Project Director) will be accepted until midnight on Tuesday, February 14, 2012 for Projects to take place during the 2012-2013 academic year, including summer 2013. The awards will be announced on April 2, 2012. Student recruitment should begin in May 2012 and each Project is expected to be completed by August 15, 2013.

Important Dates:

• Application deadline: midnight on February 14, 2012

• Student recruitment should begin in May 2012
• Projects should take place during the 2012-2013 academic year, including summer 2013
• Letter of Commitment:
  • For Fall 2012 – by July 13, 2012
  • For Winter session and Spring 2013 – by December 14, 2012
  • For Summer 2013 – by April 12, 2013
• Each Project is expected to be completed by August 15, 2013
• Evaluation Report: within 30 days of the completion of the Project
