Resolution on Strengthened Campus-based Assessment
Whereas, the University Senate has supported the assessment of general education outcomes since 1997, and
Whereas, the University Senate has engaged continued discussions with System Administration on strengthening campus-based assessment, and
Whereas, the representatives of both the Faculty Council of Community Colleges and the SUNY Student Assembly have endorsed the "Strengthened Campus-based Assessment," (the Faculty Council with modifications),
Therefore, Be it Resolved, The University Faculty Senate endorses "Strengthened Campus-based Assessment".

Resolution Ram and Seema Chugh Award
Resolved, that the University Faculty Senate establish the Ram and Seema Chugh University Faculty Senate Award for Outstanding Services, and express its gratitude for the funding of this award.

Resolution in Support of Assembly Bill A07141
Whereas, the 24,000 faculty of the State University of New York are not represented on the State University Board of Trustees; and
Whereas, the Chair of the City University of New York has served as an ex-officio, non-voting member of the CUNY Board of Trustees since 1975; and
Whereas, the President of the State University of New York Student Assembly is a member of the State University Board of Trustees; and
Whereas, New York State Education Law defines the mission of the State University to provide the people of the State with a higher education system that is fully representative; and
Whereas, Assembly Bill A07141 would provide for the President of the University Faculty Senate to be an ex-officio, non-voting member of the State University Board of Trustees; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, that the University Faculty Senate strongly supports the passage of Assembly Bill A07141 provided that the student member retains voting status; and be it further
Resolved, that the University Faculty Senate requests SUNY Chancellor Robert King, Chairman Thomas Egan and the Members of the SUNY Board of Trustees to support the passage of Bill A07141 provided that the student member retains voting status.

Resolution on the Rotation of Membership on GEAR and ACGE
Whereas, the University Faculty Senate has participated in the nomination of members for the General Education Assessment Review Group (GEAR) and Advisory Council on General Education (ACGE); and
Whereas, there has been no specific term of service;
Therefore, Be it Resolved that, The term of service for membership on each group will be three years, and one-third of the members will rotate off the group each year.

Respecting the New York State College of Ceramics Faculty Resolution of March 5, 2004, the University Faculty Senate requests that the Chancellor of the State University engage the leadership of Alfred University in renewed discussion regarding the appropriate administrative structure for the NYSCC within Alfred University.
