Celebrating 50 years of the Educational Opportunity Program

The State University of New York is celebrating the 50 year history of the Educational Opportunity Program. The statewide celebration will be held at Buffalo State College, which was the first campus in the University to admit a class of students to the Educational Opportunity Program. Dr. Arthur O. Eve began the program in 1967 with great determination to help youth who may not otherwise have access to higher education.

The celebration will honor Dr. Arthur O. Eve, recognize fifty distinguished program alumni, past and present members of the New York State Legislature, and those who serve as champions for the opportunity programs endeavor. For 50 years, the Educational Opportunity Program has been leading the way for access and success for disadvantaged youth.
