Notice of Strategic Planning Open Forum in Stony BrookContact: David Belsky, David.Belsky@suny.edu For Immediate Release: Thursday, Jan. 21, 2010 ANNOUNCEMENT OF STRATEGIC PLANNING OPEN FORUM TO: All Concerned Individuals FROM: Dr. Nancy L. Zimpher, Chancellor, The State University of New York DATE, PLACE AND TIME: February 4, 2010 State University of New York Stony Brook Student Activities Center Auditorium 105 8:30-9:30 am PURPOSE: The purpose of the SUNY Strategic Planning Open Forum is to receive testimony and statements from individuals concerning the Strategic Planning process for the State University of New York. Specifically, we will be focusing the Energy and Sustainability theme for Statewide Conversation 5 of the Strategic Planning process as well as the Universitys future direction and role for the State of New York. Information about the SUNY Strategic Planning process can be found at www.suny.edu. IN ORDER TO REGISTER TO SPEAK AT THE FORUM: 1. Persons wishing to present testimony are requested to write to StrategicPlanning@suny.edu or fax to 518-320-1558; such communication to be received no later than noon on Tuesday, February 2, 2010. In your letter, please identify in a brief fashion the subject of your testimony and provide an email address, telephone number, and mailing address. Please provide a complete copy of your oral testimony. Such testimony will be limited to three minutes. 2. Persons who wish to make brief extemporaneous comments of no more than three minutes are requested to file their names with the Forum Registration Officer on the day of the Forum, in advance of the beginning of the Forum. Time permitting; such persons will be called upon in the order in which they register with the Forum Registration Officer. IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE ONLINE: 1. Persons unable to attend the Open Forum will have the opportunity to provide direct input online through the use of Facebook. Input provided in this way will be accepted throughout the entire Strategic Planning process. Any input received before the start of the Open Forum will be read aloud, time permitting. To submit this input, persons can utilize the Discussions tab at www.facebook.com/generationsuny.
