Chancellor's MessageWith more than 7,500 degree and certificate programs on 64 college campuses, SUNY is the largest comprehensive system of public higher education in the country. SUNY enrolls nearly a half-million students each year from all 50 states and more than 170 countries world-wide, and employs more than 88,000 people across New York. Our strategic plan, The Power of SUNY, prioritizes our potential to drive economic growth, nurturing SUNY’s unmatched ability to create jobs, foster ground-breaking research and discover new technologies, support New York’s healthcare industry, mend its education pipeline, and provide new paradigms for energy use—all the while infusing our communities with a vibrancy that contributes to a better quality of life. SUNY is focused on rebuilding the state’s economy, improving the delivery of public education state-wide, and populating today’s 21st-century workforce with talented, career-ready graduates. To rise to these occasions, we are leveraging SUNY’s systemness to have a greater collective impact on the students, businesses, and communities we serve throughout New York and across the globe. We have forged unprecedented levels of collaboration and partnership with the state’s school districts, communities, and businesses. Taken together, the sum of SUNY’s efforts ensure not only that all New York State students have access to the quality public higher education our campuses provide, but also that they have the supports and tools they need to complete their education and translate their degrees into successful careers. Access. Completion. Success. These are the driving tenets of the SUNY roadmap for education. These are our promises to New York State. Please continue to explore SUNY online. We have a vast library of resources available for students and families, educators, businesses, media and more, and your comments, questions, and ideas are always welcome.
