Alternative Breaks

Alternative Breaks give students an opportunity to provide in-depth, meaningful service to local, national, and global communities during their winter and spring breaks. By the end of the 2013-2014 academic year, 109 SUNY Oswego students and 9 staff will have provided approximately 3,540 hours of service through 11 Alternative Break trips to the following sites:

  • Nazareth Farm in Salem, West Virginia
  • The Fuller Center for Housing in Atlantic City, New Jersey
  • Head Start in Bridgeton, New Jersey (2 trips)
  • Habitat for Humanity in Omaha, Nebraska
  • Habitat for Humanity in Waterloo, Iowa
  • Habitat for Humanity in Florence, Alabama
  • Habitat for Humanity in Meridian, Mississippi
  • Carolina Tiger Rescue in Pittsboro, North Carolina
  • The Fuller Center for Housing in San Luis Talpa, El Salvador
  • Outreach360 in Monte Cristi, Dominican Republic
