The State University of New York's Office of Business and Industry Relations recognizes the need to form alliances for economic
prosperity state-wide, nationally, and globally. The Office provides visibility, coordination, and outreach for targeted traditional
and emerging industries. It also provides direct assistance for businesses, brings together innovators and those at the forefront of
developing a knowledge-based economy, and links state and federal agencies, associations, and councils to small, medium, and large
businesses in all sectors.
Moreover, the 64 campuses of the State University of New York are an economic engine
for business and industry development. Every campus president acts as an economic development ambassador in his or her region and has
extended impact globally. SUNY's colleges and universities provide the research and development necessary to keep us competitive
globally. For further information, or for business and industry assistance, visit your local
campus's Web site.

The State University of New York spends approximately $540 million annually on a vast array of commodities and services. While there
are some University-wide contracts, the SUNY procurement process is generally decentralized with each of the 30 state-operated campuses
doing the majority of their own purchasing. The SUNY Means Business Web site has procurement information
for the state-operated campuses, outlines of NYS laws and SUNY procedures that govern how the University does purchasing, and contact
information for the campus procurement offices. Vendors are encouraged to contact individual campuses with information about their
businesses and how their company might meet the campuses' specific needs.
