2012 SEHP Open Enrollment

 

The 2012 Open Enrollment period for the Student Employee Health Plan (SEHP) will be from August 20, 2012 through September 21, 2012.

Eligible employees have the following options for enrolling in the Student Employee Health Plan:

Please note that the open enrollment period does not provide an opportunity for employees enrolled in the pre-tax program to voluntarily change coverage from family to individual, or to drop their coverage.  Such changes may only be requested during November.

Civil Service has requested that HBAs enter a comment in the NYBEAS comment panel for all open enrollment transactions to help them distinguish these from other types of transactions.  This comment can be a simple brief statement, such as:  “Enrollment (or Change of Coverage) During 2012 Open Enrollment Period.”

For GSEU (SLEP) transactions, the “PCT” reason code should be used in order to waive the late enrollment that would otherwise be applied.

The Open Enrollment period provides employees who were eligible for SEHP last year but chose not to enroll an opportunity to enroll now without the 30 day waiting period required as a late enrollee.
