The State University of New York Center for Student Recruitment (CSR), located in Manhattan, provides targeted outreach programs and services regarding the University to students, parents, and secondary school counselors in the New York metropolitan and surrounding area. The CSR is the regional representative for the State University of New York's 64 campuses.
CSR Programs and Services For:
Secondary School Students and Families
- A computer lab for students to complete and submit SUNY's online application. CSR staff is available to assist students throughout the application process.
- Group and one-on-one college search counseling services for students and families.
- Advice for students on the college selection process as it pertains to the State University of New York. Students may receive individual assistance with the online or paper SUNY admissions application.
- Scholarship and financial aid information for students and families both individually and in group presentations.
- Assist SUNY campuses to coordinate campus visitation programs for prospective students from the NYC area.
Transfer Students
- Information and counseling about the opportunities available at various SUNY campuses.
- Referrals to campus representatives in order to ease the transition from one institution to another.
School Counselors
- Liaison with the New York City Board of Education, parochial and private high schools and New York City community-based agencies to provide information about the many programs and opportunities available in the SUNY system.
- Workshop presentations at secondary schools regarding the SUNY application process and changes in policy and procedures that impact prospective students.
