Legal and Financial Support for Immigration Petitions

On May 17, 2007, the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) published regulations, that took effect on July 16, 2007, requiring employers to pay, subject to limited exceptions, all costs associated with filing an application for labor certification on behalf of a foreign nation.  The University has amended its policy to be in compliance with these new regulations.

The Layout and Format of the Policy & Procedure Library at the State University of New York

New features include:

• A numbering system - each policy and procedure, and any related documents, have been numbered.
• A new document category - "other requirements," which are bargaining agreements, agency guidelines, federal and state laws, etc. with which the University is obligated to comply.
• Search capabilities - along with general and advanced search engines, you can search for documents by category, alphabet or number.
• Related documents - appendices or forms related to a policy, procedure or other requirement can be easily accessed by clicking on the icon.
• Assistance in navigating the new site - there are charts explaining the categories and their corresponding number range (.pdf) * (.txt) and the conversion of document numbers (.pdf) * (.txt) from the SUNY Administrative Procedures Manual to the University-wide Policy and Procedure Library.
