Asociación Mexicana Para La Educación Internacional (AMPEI)
In 2005, the State University in partnership with the Mexican Association for International Education (AMPEI), Mexico's equivalent of NAFSA, and with the support of the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the US Embassy in Mexico City, conducts a professional exchange program. State University campuses host international programs professionals for 1-2 week internships, subsequently; the SUNY campus sends a representative for a visit of similar duration, hosted by the partner university. The U.S. Embassy in Mexico provides support for travel and incidental expenses. The program is intended to provide a professional development opportunity as well as to lead to institutional partnerships in specific academic fields.
