Opportunities for SUNY Faculty and Students

Turkey is an excellent example of professional cooperation and collaboration between The State University of New York (SUNY) System and its international partners. Since the agreement made between SUNY and The Turkish Higher Education Council, Turkey has devoted itself to the promotion of collaboration in order to realize its goal of excellence in education by ameliorating its academic system, its universities and its teacher training institutions. There is high and growing interest among Turkish scholars and students to pursue research and studies, and to foster academic partnerships with universities in the United States. SUNY System campuses are desirable partners to meet the needs of Turkish academicians. SUNY students have an opportunity to discover the richness of Turkey and its educational system. As an example, American maritime students boarded the ship, the Bosphorus, to meet their Turkish peers in Istanbul. On another occasion, Turkish-Maritime students return home aboard the Empire State.
