Chancellor Statement

Blind Vendors - Governor Paterson gave final approval to legislation removing SUNY's exemption from the requirements to provide vending opportunities to New Yorker's with visual impairments.  While the final implementation is subject to ongoing discussions with The NYS Commission on the Blind and Visually Handicapped and the NYS Office of Children and Family Services pursuant to a memorandum of understanding, all campuses are potentially impacted by these regulations. SUNY did oppose this legislation.
