Learning is the central focus at SUNY Oswego. Faculty who are committed to teaching will challenge you to master new skills, explore new ideas, and plan your own future with integrity and purpose. In addition to completing any of our more than 100 academic program options, all students also follow a General Education program that emphasizes cognitive skills, intellectual versatility, and familiarity with both the "wisdom of the ages" and the insights of modern scholarship. Our nationally recognized programs for first-year students and increasing opportunities for service learning, internships, and study abroad make the Oswego experience an outstanding college choice.
When you complete your undergraduate program, you'll have a solid academic foundation, advanced learning skills and a degree from a highly regarded college. Oswego is ranked in the Princeton Review's guidebook, The Best Northeastern Colleges as well as in the U.S. News and World Report's America's Best Colleges. Oswego is also included in Colleges of Distinction, an insider's guide to colleges that honors schools that excel in four areas: engaged students, great teaching, vibrant communities and successful outcomes.
The Oswego campus includes nearly 700-acres, and 1 1/2 miles of shoreline, on the southeastern edge of Lake Ontario, 35 miles northwest of Syracuse. Our primary goal is to prepare our students for life, work and responsible citizenship in a rapidly changing world.
