Herkimer County Community College

Herkimer County Community College is located on 500-acres in the Leatherstocking region of central New York. The campus and surrounding area provide a safe, friendly, small-town environment. With an enrollment of just over 3,000 students, your teachers will know you by name.

Herkimer has nearly 40 degree and certificate programs to choose from. If you’re undecided, our General Studies Program provides a strong liberal arts background for transfer to a four-year college or university. We maintain transfer agreements with SUNY and many private colleges, allowing for a smooth transition. Over 20 percent of our students earn their degree entirely over the Internet, www.ia.herkimer.edu. We offer 18 two-year degree programs and three one-year certificate programs entirely online.

Herkimer enrolls students from all over the globe. Our diverse student population comes from across New York State, the U.S.A. and 20 foreign countries. Our students participate in nearly 40 student clubs and organizations, and a nationally recognized athletic program. A new athletic stadium opened October 2005. Wehrum Stadium features a state-of-the-art synthetic playing surface and is equipped with lights, new team facilities, an athletic training room, concession stand and press box.

Herkimer has approximately 600 students living in its three on-campus housing facilities. These facilities include utilities and high-speed Internet access.
