Zimpher, Chancellor Subject: Stony Brook University Hospital – Quality Assessment Review Board Action Requested The proposed resolution appoints Mr. Jamie L. Moore as a member of the Quality Assessment Review Board for Stony Brook University Hospital. Resolution I recommend that the Board of Trustees adopt the following resolution: Whereas by Resolution 2007-28, adopted March 20, 2007, the State University Board of Trustees established the Quality Assessment Review Board for Stony Brook University Hospital; and Whereas Resolution 2007-28 provides that the members of the Quality Assessment Review Board shall be appointed by the State University Board of Trustees upon the recommendation of the Chancellor, in consultation with the President of Stony Brook University; now, therefore, be it Resolved that Mr. Jamie L. Moore be, and hereby is, appointed as a member of the Quality Assessment Review Board for Stony Brook University Hospital for a three year term. Background By Resolution 2007-28, adopted March 20, 2007, the State University Board established the Quality Assessment Review Board for Stony Brook University Hospital, and established the role, function, membership, and qualifications for membership thereof. By Resolution 2007-99, adopted May 31, 2007, the State University Board appointed the initial members of the Quality Assessment Review Board. The Quality Assessment Review Board consists of not fewer than nine nor more than twelve external members and no more than three ex officio members recommended by the Chancellor, in consultation with the President of Stony Brook University, and appointed by the State University Board. Five external members shall be distinguished residents of Suffolk County, two external members shall be residents of New York State who are physicians in good standing, and at least one member shall be a registered nurse employed by Stony Brook Hospital. Each member serves at the pleasure of the State University Board of Trustees for a term of up to three years. By this resolution, the State University Board appoints Mr. Jamie L. Moore as a member of the Quality Assessment Review Board for a three year term. Attachment Jamie L. Moore Jamie L. Moore: Jamie L. Moore is a graduate of the University of South Carolina, where he earned his BA in Creative Writing and Business Administration, as well as his MSBA in Production and Operations Management. He focused his Columbia University doctoral studies in leadership, negotiation theory and application, strategic decision making, workplace ethics, and threshold firm management. Mr. Moore worked as a Senior Project Manager and then Senior Development Officer at J.P. Morgan Chase in Manhattan for several years before beginning his work with DJM Consultants, Inc., a firm based out of Happauge and for which he was a project research assistant. From 2006 to 2009, he was promoted several times at CA International, Inc., where is career focused on organizational development. Specifically, during the first three years at CA International, he managed the development of Succession Management and Career Planning systems; as Director of Organizational Development, he designed and analyzed internal customer satisfaction surveys, led a workplace flexibility project, and managed outplacements services and the budget; as Senior Principal, Mr. Moore was the lead on the Employee Opinion survey, where he exceeded the organizational scorecard target of an 85% response rate by 3%, led program initiatives that results in an approximate 50% workload reduction for the Organizational Development Analyst role, and managed two interns over a 12 month period as part of his participation in the Hofstra Organizational Leadership Internship Program. At present, Mr. Moore is a Workforce Program Manager for Long Island Forum for Technology (LIFT) and an adjunct professor in the School of Business Administration at Stony Brook University. Mr. Moore has authorized or co-authored numerous book chapters and academic journal articles, with topics ranging from conflict negotiation in the workplace to the impact of the American Disabilities Act on small businesses.
