SUBJECT:	Fiftieth Anniversary of the State University Construction Fund


Action Requested

      The proposed resolution honors the State University Construction Fund on its fiftieth anniversary.

Resolution

	I recommend that the Board of Trustees adopt the following resolution:

Whereas the State University Construction Fund was established by Ch. 251 L. 1962 and is celebrating the fiftieth year anniversary of its founding; and

Whereas, by statute, the State University Construction Fund is the State University’s agent for the construction, acquisition, reconstruction, rehabilitation and improvement of all capital facilities of the State-operated and statutory institutions of the State University, and is instrumental in capital planning, financing, budgeting, design and construction of such facilities; and 

Whereas it is commendable that such activities of the State University Construction Fund have kept pace with the physical expansion of the State University, and increases in its student population; and

Whereas buildings and capital facilities of the State University now comprise over 100 million square feet of space that supports the activities of more than 467,000 students and nearly 88,000 faculty and staff; now, therefore, be it 



Resolved the Board of Trustees commends the State University Construction Fund and the dedicated members of its board of trustees and staff for a half-century of developing and providing stewardship of facilities and infrastructure of the State-operated campuses and statutory colleges and being a valued partner in building the State University.
