SUBJECT:	Naming of The Swyer Family Physical Education Building – State University of New York University at Albany 


Action Requested

	The proposed resolution approves the action of the University Council, University at Albany, on October 5, 2012 in naming the physical education building at the University at Albany “The Swyer Family Physical Education Building.”

Resolution

      I recommend that the Board of Trustees adopt the following resolution:

	Resolved that the action of the University Council, University at Albany, in naming the physical education building at the University at Albany “The Swyer Family Physical Education Building” be, and hereby is, approved.

Background

      The proposed resolution approves the action of the University Council, University at Albany, on October 5, 2012 in naming the physical education building at the University of Albany “The Swyer Family Physical Education Building.” The Council’s action was taken in recognition of Mr. Edward Swyer’s $1,000,000 pledge. Mr. Swyer has held a number of volunteer leadership positions at the University at Albany and is currently a member of the Foundation Board of Directors.
