Subject:	Appointment of Margaret M. O’Connell as Interim President of Onondaga Community College
Action Requested
      The proposed resolution approves the appointment of Margaret M. O’Connell as the Interim President of Onondaga Community College.

Resolution

      I recommend that the Board of Trustees adopt the following resolution:

Resolved that the appointment of Margaret M. O’Connell as Interim President of Onondaga Community College, by the Onondaga Community College Board of Trustees, at a salary of $195,000, effective on or about July 1, 2012, be, and hereby is, approved; and, be it further

Resolved that the approval of this appointment is contingent upon the submission of Ms. O’Connell’s resignation from the Onondaga Community College Board of Trustees; and, be it further 

Resolved that the approval of this appointment shall be for twelve months or until a permanent president is appointed, whichever event occurs first.     

Background

      I am pleased to recommend your approval of the appointment of Margaret M. O’Connell as Interim President of Onondaga Community College, effective on or about July 1, 2012.  Ms. O’Connell will fill the void left by Dr. Debbie Sydow who will be leaving on or about June 30, 2012, to commence her appointment of as President of Richard Bland College is Petersburg, Virginia.
