Subject:	Edwin A. Goodman – Fashion Institute of Technology


	I recommend that the Board of Trustees adopt the following resolution:

Whereas Edwin A. Goodman, who just concluded a remarkable 16 years as chairman of the Fashion Institute of Technology Board of Trustees, demonstrated from the outset a passion for the mission of the college and an energetic commitment to its growth, and

Whereas a constant source of strength, he vigorously supported the changes in the college that allowed it to flourish: program growth, faculty building, technology reforms, expansion of facilities, strategic planning and a continual elevation of FIT’s goals and aspirations, and

Whereas an innovative, experienced leader in the world of finance, he brought keen business skills and an astute business vision to the college. He spearheaded the expansion of the board from ten to 16 members.  Known for his integrity, creativity, and far sightedness, he was generous in every way---generous as a donor, generous with his time, generous with wisdom and guidance, and

Whereas while he has stepped down from the chairmanship, he will continue to serve as a valued member of the board; now, therefore be it

Resolved the college expresses its deep gratitude to Edwin A. Goodman for his invaluable leadership, his demonstrable dedication to higher education and to excellence at FIT.
