The Academic Medical Centers and Hospitals Committee of the Board of Trustees of the State University of New York held a meeting on January 10, 2011.

The Academic Medical Centers and Hospitals Committee meeting was called to order by Trustee John Murad at 10:30a.m. on Monday, January 11, 2011 at SUNY Global Center.  

* Mr. John Murad made a motion to accept the minutes from the November 16, 2010, Committee Meeting.  The motion was carried.

* Ms. Monica Rimai made opening remarks. 

* Ms. Kathy Preston reviewed the recent history of state financial support and Hospital Operations.  (See attached)

* During the presentation Ms Kathy Preston noted that the State support the SUNY hospitals receives as a percentage of revenue has dropped from 9.0% in 2007-08 to 6.6% in 2010-11.  Ms Preston further noted that this reduction make it difficult for the SUNY hospitals to maintain a positive bottom.

* Dr. Greene presented a summary of the Patient Safety and Quality Council meeting held in Stony Brook on November 20, 2010.  

* Mr. John Murad made a motion to enter executive Session.

* Mr. John Murad made a motion to end the meeting.
