Subject:	Appointment of David K. Lavallee as Interim Senior Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Provost of the State University of New York 

	I recommend that the Board of Trustees adopt the following resolution:

Resolved that David K. Lavallee be, and hereby is, appointed Interim Senior Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Provost of the State University of New York, effective immediately.   

Background

	I recommend your appointment of Dr. David K. Lavallee as Interim Senior Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Provost of the State University of New York.    

        This appointment as Interim Senior Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Provost is consistent with my previously announced re-organizational plan for senior administration. 
        
        On September 15, 2009, Dr. Lavallee was appointed Interim Provost.  This resolution does not change the terms of his appointment and does not make any changes to Dr. Lavallee�s compensation.

	A copy of Dr. Lavallee�s resume is attached.
