(NYC, LI, Hudson Valley)

Free Transportation Services:

SUNY employees in New York City, the Hudson Valley and Long Island are eligible to receive customized transit routes, ridematching and vanpool assistance at no-cost through 511NY Rideshare.

Register for the services by completing a short Commuter Application.

There is no obligation upon registering; services provided are informational with the purpose of easing employees’ commutes to work. In addition, employees that choose an alternate commute help to expand campus sustainability, cut greenhouse gas emissions, and improve local air quality.

Available Commuter Services:

  •  Carpool Matching – Link with employees that live and work nearby for a flexible arrangement to ride together.

  • Vanpool Formation – Comprehensive services in arranging a vanpool. Your Pre-tax benefit funds can be applied to vanpool costs.

  •  Guaranteed Ride – Pays ridesharers for trips from work when they need to leave early or work late and can’t travel with their car or van pool (certain restrictions apply and benefit depends on location).

  • Transit Routes – Personalized route to work considering all available services (i.e. train, bus, ferry); maps included. An alternate transit route is provided for those currently using transit.
